Anytime we experience the loss of a pet Golden Retriever, it is utterly heartbreaking.
There is no doubt that we all love our Golden Retrievers and consider them to be part of our family.
Unfortunately, sometimes we are made to feel as if we are not allowed to properly grieve for our pet, as there are a few people that act as if it was “just a dog”.
We, of course, know better!
We know and understand that he was not only part of our lives, but a part of our hearts.
When we learn ahead of time that our beloved Golden Retriever is extremely sick or hurt, sometimes a decision needs to be made on whether or not we should
put our dog to sleep.
This in itself can be a very agonizing choice. I’ve personally had to make this decision and trust me, deciding what to do almost ripped my heart out.
When our pet’s death is unexpected, there are still many decisions suddenly thrown at us, and sometimes having to make these choices can cause a lot of guilt and sorrow from wondering whether or not we made the right choices.
Though losing a dog initially brings much sorrow, it is my hope that eventually your sorrow will be replaced with fond memories of the time that you spent together.
is one that brings comfort to my heart and mind, and I hope that it does the same for you.
For some people, a special tribute or memorial helps in the healing process of their dog’s death.
For me, I want the world to see and remember my Golden for all that he was, rather than dwell on what no longer is. But, everyone is different and everyone handles their grief in their own special way.
If you had a Golden Retriever that you would like to see added to the
Golden Retriever memorial page,
please contact me, and I will gladly add him or her to this page.
